Well, you wanted a story, if not, you're in the wrong section. This is a story of another channel I had, and to go over my mistakes at the time, and how two kids can gain over 2,500 subscribers and over 2,000 total video views per day.
There is nowhere else to start except the very beginning.
It was maybe a few years ago, nearly three years now, very early 2009 now, anyway. I had my channel, Neakiaro, my older but more useless brother had his channel, NoxmasterV. I had uploaded quite a few random videos, was not that successful. I did not know much about YouTube at this time, even after a year or two. GamePortable was the main learning curve for me. I remember the time well, I brought my laptop into my parent's room, which is where my brother was, as he is always on the computer then. We had a short discussion and then decided to make a channel for our videos joint. Name finding was hard, GamePort, TheGamePort, GameDock ect, eventually through suggestions on YouTube we reached GamePortable. As for my current channel, the same happened for TheGameDock. Back then, my brother was 13, so we used his age, and I was 11. As of now, this day in fact, the 7th, I am 14. Just gettin that out there.
We had a lot of old videos, priceless memories, games such as Road Trip Adventure, FFX, Seek and Destroy ect. Amazing games made for children. I still play them to this day as they are amazing, I would like to point out that foolboyv5 has an entire series of Road Trip Adventure as a complete playthrough getting everything. I recommend you see the first videos, but do not watch the rest if you want to get the game, it is quite fun.
Later on, I decided as my brother was not doing anything at all towards it and I wasn't able to upload much or often due to internet issues. That is when I decided to think about changing the channel, I had no idea to what. A few years ago when I reached this point, an amazing stroke of luck happened. Well, fat slob of a piece of luck. Apparently, only apparently, I had commented on one of his videos maybe a year ago. The comment: "Commentary". Who knew being the most thumbed up comment could help at some times? Most times it's just annoying seeing thumbwhores ect, but if it is just a random relivent comment, I don't mind. I will refer to this character as 'Jake', to not reveal his name. I do not wish anyone to troll him nor to break any YouTube rules in posting this.
Jake had commented on the GamePortable profile page. "Hey, you requested a commentary, I now have one up!". Something like that. I saw it, man, you really can tell he's fat just by his voice. A lot of people at my school were able to as well. I know he's fat from other means, not just his voice. But the voice is a big giveaway. Anyways, his videos were about Minecraft. This was the real hotspot at the time, still now as I post this. I knew what I was doing here. I invited him to join our channel, which he did and that got us a boost and gave me and my brother some more will to post more videos from us. Things went swimmingly.
Posting videos every so often from all 3 of us boosted us up a lot, got us quite far, allowed us to have more subscribers which gave people more will to join in with us and upload to us. Things went booming. Then, an important character popped up. RK, not saying his full channel name. He had videos, some good CoD videos, but that was really it. He slowed down uploading. Things went bad. He harrassed everyone and was in general annoying. He broke a lot of rules he agreed to with me to upload to us. I had no choice but to simply tell him, "RK, things aint going right with us. I want to give you another chance, but you have to fix up and follow the rules you agreed to, which where..., and mature up a bit." Of course, with the mentality of a 10 year old, he went absolutely ballistic. He sabotaged the channel and everything - (I go over this mistake in the end of this short essay). Oh well, fixed things after that.
I cannot remember the inbetween of him and Smesty. I will mention Smesty as he has been a very good commentator and has always helped run things, and before GamePortable fell apart, sorted everything out. He was our best Cod commentator. After that, Balint came with strategy games such as Age of Mythology, then his friend Conrad, known as BoomRainb0w applied to join in with us because Balint told him about us. He posted Mount&Blade videos.
Then, at around 2,700 subscribers, 300,000 total upload views and other good stats, boom. We went down. I don't even tell Conrad now why it is down, please do not ask.


~~ Right, so as you see, there are many mistakes. Let's review them.

* We started too young. Get a bit older.
* We didn't have a good name to start off with, until we were suggested one. Think a good name through first.
* If the games are good, give up on them. Chose games that are viral and important at the time

*** The biggest of all mistakes. I let others know the password to the channel. This is a motherload mistake. Now I am about to explain the story of TheGameDock, where I correct this mistake.

I would like to recommend gigafide with his "The Partner Project" who I have watched for years. I did not use anything really from his series, but it seems very helpful.

Well, nobody was left. Everything had fallen apart. I decided to go to an alternative plan, backup channel. TheGameDock now. I do not have the time or will to continue this story much longer, but I will adress the account password issue. We now use Dropbox, we have Conrad as the manager, still from GamePortable, and a bunch of new people now. Ed is our uploader, he is close to Conrad and is trusted. All Directors/Team Members now upload to the dropbox folder with the info that we give them, and Ed uploads to videos on the correct day from the dropbox folders. This really strengthens community channels.

Well, that's about it.

Yea that's a big no no giving out the password. I would have changed the password and booted that CoD guy out. But you live you learn.

Cool story bro. I wish you luck with your new channel! Also, you should've changed the pass before talking to the CoD guy who sabotaged the channel. But at least you're recovering now.

I did. Back then I always kept two pages open. One on the settings page to sign everyone out in all locations and the other to reset the pass.

Now its all sorted.

Anyone being funny with you back is because of yourself aggravating them hence the posts I quoted, I can post the lot if that would really make you happy Chris but I aint going to bring all of that over here, it is pointless bickering about it.
