Paint.net
Anyone else use Paint.net as a decent substitute for Photoshop? The main factors that makes Paint.net near as good as Photoshop is the fact is has layers. Very important. It doesn't have too many effects - But you can download effect packs online.

I would never substitute Photoshop with Paint.net or any of the other free alternatives, none of them offer as many tools as Photoshop has. They are alright for free though.

Well its all down to personal preference and opinion really. If you dont have enough for Photoshop then they are decent alternative tools.
